Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actress and television presenter. She is best known for her role as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born the only child to Romanian actor Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her showbiz career in the early years of her life. By the time she reached the age of 16years old, Alexandra was able to land the leading roles in numerous TV dramas. In the Oscar-nominated film Downfall, her role as Secretary Traudljunge, Adolf Hitler's secretary was also highly praised. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated features featuring the divas. Over the years Alexandra has worked in several notable international and national projects. One of these is the British biographical movie Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historic miniseries Napoleon. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
